How to Play Bunco
It's a fast-paced, social dice game that's all about luck. No skill required, just a willingness to have fun!
What You'll Need
- Players: 12 players, divided into 3 tables of 4.
- Dice: 3 dice for each table.
- Tables: A "Head Table," a "Middle Table," and a "Losing Table."
- Bell: A bell for the Head Table to ring to start and end rounds.
- Score Sheets: One for each player to track their wins and losses.
Playing a Round
- The Head Table rings the bell to start the round.
- One player at each table starts rolling the three dice. In Round 1, you're trying to roll 1s. In Round 2, you're trying to roll 2s, and so on.
- Scoring:
- Roll one of the target numbers = 1 point.
- Roll three of the target numbers (e.g., three "1s" in Round 1) = 21 points (a BUNCO!).
- Roll three-of-a-kind of any other number = 5 points (a Mini-Bunco!).
- A player keeps rolling as long as they are scoring points. When they fail to score on a roll, they pass the dice to the player on their left.
- When a team at the Head Table scores 21 points, the round is over. The Head Table rings the bell.
Winning & Moving Tables
At the end of a round, players tally their team's score. The team with the higher score at each table wins.
- At the Head Table, the winning team stays. The losing team moves down to the Middle Table.
- At the Middle Table, the winning team moves up to the Head Table. The losing team moves down to the Losing Table.
- At the Losing Table, the winning team moves up to the Middle Table. The losing team stays.
Players should also switch partners for the next round to keep things social! After six rounds are complete, the game is over. Players tally their total wins, losses, and Buncos to determine the ultimate prize winners!
